Document on Demand feature. A
feature that moves continuous forms
within the printer so that a blank
form is not ejected when separating
forms.
Dual Purpose Forms Device (F2).
A forms feeding option which, when
selected, automatically stops
continuous forms at the perforation.
This enables the printed form to be
torn off before the next sheet begins
to be printed.
F
feature. A particular part of an IBM
product that a customer can order
separately.
feed roller. See

form. The area between
perforations on continuous printer
paper.
form feed (FF). Paper movement
used to bring an assigned part of a
form to the printing position.
forms device. One of four
mechanical paper handling devices
that can be installed in the 4232
Printer Model 302s.
forms guide/forms sensor. Blue
guide used to align the left edge of a
form, detecting the last form feed
past it, and detecting paper jams.
forms tension knob. Blue knob
used to adjust the setting on the
forms tension lever on the F1 forms
device.
forms tension lever. Used to
control the tension on paper loaded
in the F1 forms device. Settings
range from * (no tension) to 6
(maximum tension).

interface. The connection between
the computer and the printer.

left margin (LM). The area
between the left edge of the display
or paper and the leftmost character
position.
lines per inch (LPI). The number
of lines of text or graphics that can
be placed in one inch.
lower forms guide. Used with the
F3 forms device and the forms
guide/forms sensor to detect and
align cut sheet forms and to activate
the Load/Eject key.
